Toquaht Bay Campground

Toquaht Bay Campground was a B.C. Forest Recreation Site for many years.

In 2001, the Ministry of Forests completed a huge improvement project at the site, including over 80 designated sites with tables and fire-rings, a large lawn area with attractive shrubs, trees and plants, 7 restrooms, and a day-use parking area. On April 1, 2011 the campground was transferred to the Toquaht Nation under the Maa-nulth Treaty and is now operated as a private facility.

The huge sandy, shallow beach is perfect for all activities by children and adults alike. Firewood is available to purchase at reasonable rates from the staff, and there is never a campfire ban since the west coast of Vancouver Island is exempt from all bans. Toquart Bay Store is located just a few kilometres from the campground and has everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Located next to the campground is a full marina, also owned by the Toquaht Nation, and has moorage, boat launch and fish cleaning stations. The marina has fresh water available and has lighting for the evening hours.

Management has placed a major emphasis on making the site friendly to families, seniors, and users who appreciate a peaceful, well-maintained and secure site. A strictly enforced “quiet time” is in place from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day. Staff lives on-site year round to provide security and service 24 hours a day.

Toquaht Bay Campground Rates

Rates are currently $15.00 per night for each site, with Canadian seniors over 65 enjoying a reduced rate of $10.00 per night. Parking is available for users who leave their vehicles and depart for other locations or kayak/fishing tours at a rate of only $4.00 per night. Boat launch fees apply to all boats that are not registered in the marina at a rate of $5.00 in and out. All fees quoted include the HST.
